After receiving a few requests for mentoring, I decided to put together a one-day educational workshop, with an emphasis on portraiture, particularly related to weddings. We had a lot of fun, and I loved photographing this fantastic Hollywood Glam style that is trending right now.

The first part of this workshop was dedicated to entry level photography education for those who had very little photography/camera experience. This covered lighting, settings and all the technical side of photography.

The second part of the workshop was dedicated to posing education. This is vital because you can know your camera settings all day long, but if you can't direct the client and make them feel comfortable, the photos are going to be a bust. In order to be a bit more practical with the posing instruction, I brought in a real couple for my mentees to interact with, and practice directing.

This couple had their own wedding just a few months prior to the mentoring session. I photographed their wedding and absolutely loved working with them, so it was a pleasure to photograph them again. Hair and makeup was done by the fabulous Jennifer of Lip Service Makeup and the dress was from Elizabeth Lee Bridal.
