Last weekend was quite remarkable... I headed to Dallas for what was about to become a showstopping Engagement Session. The Dallas Arboretum was the first location of the evening, where I met Brooke and Ryan for the first time. They walked up and I felt my jaw drop! Brooke had the most gorgeous updo and makeup, with an elegant pale blue dress, and Ryan was effortlessly dapper in with a white button down shirt and blue jeans. Add a sprinkle of sunshine and the manicured gardens at the arboretum and I knew their photos were going to look amazing!

But beyond gorgeous images, if there is one goal throughout my photography, it is to truly encapsulate who a couple is together, and the way they interact together. That is the most genuine, priceless legacy I can provide. Ryan and Brooke absolutely embraced that! Before we started taking pictures they told me, in essence, that they were a blank canvas. They were willing to do whatever I had in mind. That was absolutely wonderful to hear! But better yet, as I directed and prompted them through various things, they naturally infused their personalities and authentic interactions. Whether they were talking about old age together, or wishing for a Sonic drink, they laughed together, cuddled up, and simply let their spirits radiate. And that is where the true beauty lies!

The Introduction

Brooke and Ryan were connected by a mutual friend who set up their first date. Although the first was not quite ideal, they really hit it off on the second date! They found so many connections on important topics like faith, politics, finances and lifestyle and enjoyed spending time together even for the mundane things like running errands.

The Love Story

While there wasn't an exact "light bulb" moment, both Ryan and Brooke naturally came to the realization that this was the person that would be at their side throughout life. Rather doubting the future, the two of them felt confident that this was the person they could commit to, and that they would make it in life together.

The Proposal

After a casual day of massages and dinner together, Brooke and Ryan headed outside to the fire pit. They were enjoying their natural environment, just spending time together when Ryan felt the time was right. He hadn't planned it ahead of time, but he knew the moment was right. So feeling level headed and excited, he popped the question. It was personal, intimate and authentic.

Ryan and Brooke, You are such a remarkable and radiant couple! I am so excited for you to tie the knot!
