When Blair called me, needing Engagement photos with her fiancé Christopher, of course I was thrilled. But she really caught my attention when she said they love New York and wanted their photos downtown, to have a similar feel. It seemed like she was speaking to my soul!
But that was just the beginning of the extraordinary affair. The day of Blair & Christopher's Engagement Session arrived, and despite literal freezing temperatures (soon to become a motif for this couple's photo sessions), the morning was impossibly splendid. Christopher was looking dapper in his felt blazer, sans tie - which is a really great way to mix casual and formal for photos. And Blair's dress not only looked incredible on her, but the flowing fabric gave so much beautiful life and movement to the photos. I also really love the layering and dimension that was added by Blair's long coat.
Because we were out at the crack of dawn, we had glowing light and very little traffic. You can bet that meant we took advantage of the empty streets for the full urban effect. I am totally obsessed with these photos - they feel so timeless, seamlessly mixing the 1940's era with 2020. And the completely authentic emotions and movement have captivated me and set a new precedence for urban sessions going forward!
Little did I know, this was just the beginning. Their New Years Even Elopement would be even more iconic!
