Hi, I'm Kathryn Akomah-Mordi

The owner and photographer here at Mordi Photographie. I am a total hopeless romantic and chick flick lover. I am married, we have 2 little boys and we love Jesus!

I started second shooting in 2017, and since then I average about 20-25 second photography jobs per year (in addition to my own weddings). I typically work with photographers who have traditional or bright photography styles, but I have also worked with photographers using darker, moody or boho styles or lighter, airy styles.

Booking 2 Months in Advance


When booking a wedding as your second photographer, I sign a contract (yours or mine) to lock in the date. You can be assured that I will be reliable and won't book other events on your date and back out on you. This is why I book no more than 2 months in advance. I can take on dates with shorter notice as well, but there are surcharges for booking only 1 week in advance of the event.

Home & Travel

I am based in Fort Worth, Texas, but go all over the DFW Metroplex for weddings.

I do not charge travel fees unless the distance is more than 100 miles round trip.

How I Second

It is important that I get angles and shots that are different from the lead photographer. I typically use longer lenses and 45-90 degree angle differences. I most often use back lighting and OCF during receptions. I follow directions well, if you prefer other methods.

Personal Style

I like a combination of candid photo-journalistic and gentle posing. Prompting couples to move naturally is my priority.

I edit my own images with true to life adjustments that are clean and bright.

Second Rates

Rates for 2022 are $60/hour. Booking requests within one week of an event are $75/hour. That factors in my travel time up to 100 miles round trip from 76179.

Travel beyond that it is $1 per mile.

I will always dress up for weddings (no jeans or sneakers) and I wear all black.

I am very comfortable working with the groom and groomsmen, when the lead prefers to stay with the bride.

I can use your card, or shoot with my own. If using my card, RAW files can be transferred immediately following the event via SD reader/ laptop or they can be sent via DropBox within 48 hours. Complementary culling is an option I offer (if using my SD Card), to save you time culling through test shots and blinks.

After you have delivered the images to your client, I may edit the RAW files and use them for my portfolio, social media and promotional services. If used on social media, credit will always be given to you and no vendors or wedding party/guests will be tagged.
